The Mackintosh River is in the West Coast region of Tasmania, Australia, and flows into the Pieman River. It is in the northern section of the West Coast Range. The river name is utilised in cartography of the area, with the river name being allocated to maps. As well as significantly early maps of the region ==Pieman power scheme== It was dammed by Hydro Tasmania in its development of the Pieman power development scheme. It is north of Tullah, Lake Mackintosh is one of the more substantial in size of the hydro man-made lakes on the West Coast.
